Your price
Park fees are set by the government in US dollars. We use 330 rupees to the dollar (checked 27 September 2026). If the gate price is a little different on the day, we settle the difference with you and show you the receipt.
How park tickets work
The park tickets aren't our price. They're set by the government: the Department of Wildlife Conservation for Minneriya, Kaudulla and Gal Oya, and the Forest Department for Hurulu. We don't add anything on top of them.
Who pays what
- Under 5: free (but they still take a seat in the jeep)
- Kids 5 to 11: child ticket, about half price
- 12 and over: adult ticket
How the gate adds it up
At Minneriya and Kaudulla, the ticket office adds up:
- everyone's entry tickets (foreign adult US$25, child US$12.5)
- a service charge for the jeep (about US$8)
- a small jeep entry fee (LKR 250) and the driver's own ticket (LKR 150)
Then they add 18% VAT on the lot. You pay in rupees, so we change the dollar prices at about 330 rupees to the dollar.
What if the price at the gate is different?
The rupee moves a little every day, and the government can change fees. If the amount at the gate is different from what we collected, we settle it with you on the day, up or down, and you can ask to see the receipt. We'd rather be fair than lucky.
No cancellations
All bookings are final. We can't cancel or refund a safari once it's paid, because we pay the jeep owner and reserve the jeep for you as soon as you book. If the park is closed by the authorities on your day, we'll offer you another date or another open park.
