Elephant safari from Sigiriya
Lots of people climb Sigiriya Rock in the morning and do an elephant safari in the afternoon. It's a great day out.
The jeep can pick you up from your Sigiriya hotel for a small extra fee. The drive to Minneriya takes about 35 to 45 minutes.
Good to know
- Climb the rock early (before 9 am) to beat the heat, rest at lunch, then do the afternoon safari. That's the best time for elephants anyway.
- To save the pickup fee, take a tuk-tuk to Habarana and meet the jeep there for free.
